A young Saudi man disappeared under mysterious circumstances last week while waiting to catch a flight from Turkey to Saudi Arabia, Al Bayan newspaper reported

Now identified as Salem bin Nafe'e Al Harbi, the man had been in Turkey with his family when he decided he wanted to cut the trip short and head back home.

Speaking to news outlets, his brother, Ahmad bin Nafe'e Al Harbi, said the young man was dealing with "psychological problems" and needed to return to Saudi Arabia.

Due to the unavailability of return tickets for the entire family, only Al Harbi's mother and younger brother were scheduled to travel back with him. Shortly after arriving at Istanbul Airport together, Al Harbi disappeared and was reported missing.

Both Saudi and Turkish authorities are still searching for Al Harbi

According to MBC news, Saudi and Turkish authorities continue to search for the young man. Late on Monday, Al Harbi's brother stated that CCTV footage captured him being led to the airport's metro by two security men.

"They put him on the metro because he didn't have identification documents on him, they were all left with my mother," he explained

The family now waits as authorities watch more footage to figure out the last known whereabouts of the Saudi man. News of him going missing in Turkey has also started to make the rounds online.

Many are now speculating over the case, with some sharing posts about the fact that Al Harbi might have been kidnapped or taken against his will.

Many are praying for Al Harbi's safe return

"May God return him to his family safe and sound."

Others are coming up with theories over the disappearance

"I have a feeling that a mafia might've kidnapped him."

"There are organ trafficking gangs in Turkey"

Some are raising questions about the search

"Is he tied to the airport? Maybe he left and was kidnapped in the city."
