Late on Wednesday, Lebanon's Military Court sentenced controversial Lebanese model turned pop star, Myriam Klink, to 20 days in prison on gun shooting charges. They later reduced the sentence to a fine, The Daily Star reported.
According to the English-language daily, the charges stem from a video that showed the model firing gun shots from a rifle during an outing.
Klink was absent during the initial sentencing, but later arrived in court and paid the fine, which The Daily Star claims to be worth between $133 and $200.
She was also ordered to hand over the gun used in the video.
"Article 72 of Lebanon’s weapons law prevents anyone from carrying, using and trafficking unlicensed weapons," The Daily Star wrote.
Breaking this law entails punishments that can reach up to three months in prison.
People accused of firing shots into the air are often taken into custody for up to a day, before being referred to court where they often face fines.
Not the first time Klink faces charges
This certainly isn't the first time Klink has a brush with the law.
Earlier this year, the pop star was barred from leaving Lebanon after facing a lengthy interrogation by police, following the release of her now-banned "explicit" viral music video.
Titled "Goal," the clip showed Klink and singer Jad Khalife singing and laying in bed on top of each other.
The video also featured a young girl who was seen in several shots.
At the time of its release, it caused quite a stir and angered many who considered the appearance of the young girl in the video a form of "child exploitation."
