On Sunday, a Qatar Airways flight was forced to make an emergency landing after an Iranian woman discovered her husband's affair and "created a ruckus" mid-air.

According to The Independent, the flight was en route from Doha to Bali when the unidentified woman unlocked her husband's smartphone using his fingerprint

Subsequently, the woman repeatedly hit her husband. Flight attendants on the flight failed to calm her down, ultimately forcing the flight to divert to Chennai, India.

"Seeing the situation getting out of hand, the crew decided to offload the woman along with her husband and their child. The pilot diverted the flight to Chennai, where the family was de-boarded. The plane went ahead to Bali leaving them in India," an official said

Al Arabiya reported that security agencies said she was drunk. The couple was traveling with their child and were not permitted to board a subsequent flight until she sobered up.

The family spent the day at Chennai airport before being sent to Kuala Lumpur.

"No police action was taken," an official said.
