An American TV host has called out the double standards of American politicians, stating that they only care about violence when the attacker is somehow connected to Islam.

Despite a startling number of mass shootings in the United States, often perpetrated by white men, many American politicians continue to brush the problem aside.

However, whenever an attack is carried out by an individual associated with Islamist terrorists, politicians are quick to condemn and call for drastic action.

"Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough is fed up with the blatant double standards, particularly in the wake of a mass shooting at a Texas church on Sunday, which was perpetrated by a white man named Devin Patrick Kelley and left 26 dead and some 20 injured.

"If a guy named Mohammad blew up that church yesterday, oh my God. Oh, my God. This morning, Washington would be on fire," Scarborough pointed out. "All we get is ‘let’s pray. I feel real bad,'" he said.

Scarborough went on to call out U.S. President Donald Trump, who was quick to tweet out a fiery response after Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov carried out an attack in New York last week. Saipov allegedly supported the so-called Islamic State (or Daesh).

Although the death toll in Saipov's attack was significantly lower than that carried out by Kelley, Trump had a calm response and blamed the attack on mental health issues.

Scarborough continued by saying that Americans "wouldn’t put up with this or with any other epidemic."

“We would not ... If this were terrorism, Islamic, radical terrorism, again Washington would be on fire this morning," he said.
