Traveling around the world is only becoming harder, visa applications longer and security screenings deeper. But, if you've got an Emirati passport, visa hassles, and travel restrictions will now become the least of your concerns.
The UAE passport has just been ranked the most powerful passport in the Arab world, according to Global Passport Power Rank 2017.
The passport now stands at 22 globally, with a visa-free score of 128.
The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) recently launched the UAE Passport Force initiative, with an aim to make the country's passport one of the 5 most powerful passports in the world by 2021, according to Gulf News.
The UAE passport was followed by the Kuwaiti passport (No. 48 globally) with a visa-free score of 86
Qatar stands at No. 50 in the ranking with a visa-free score of 80
Bahrain came in at No. 53 with a visa-free score of 76
Followed by Oman at No. 55 with a visa-free score of 72
The weakest passport in the Arab world? Iraq, which stands at No. 91 in the ranking
The Syrian passport is also among the weakest in the world, standing at No. 90 on the list with a visa-free score of 30.
Sudan came in at No. 88 on the list, Yemen at No. 87 and Lebanon, Libya both at No. 86.
Globally, Germany and Singapore have the world’s strongest passports with a visa-free score of 159.
The higher the visa-free score the more powerful the passport holder is as he/she will have the ability to travel to certain destinations, without the need to apply for a visa.
