You would think the whereabouts of Palestine's historic capital, Jerusalem, is known to people worldwide, but as it turns out that's not quite the case.

In a tweet that's now making the rounds online, Mohammad Tawhidi, an Australian-Iraqi Muslim preacher, shared a bizarre exchange he had with his barber, during which the latter referred to Jerusalem as a city that belongs to Pakistan.

The tweet was posted on the Muslim scholar's official Twitter page late on Tuesday and it read

"I just had a haircut and the barber realised that I was Muslim, so he said: 'I can’t believe Donald Trump took Jerusalem from Pakistan and gave it to Israel.'"

Soon after, the story caught people's attention and a hilarious online frenzy ensued...

It all started when Tawhidi sent this tweet out...

You can't make this stuff up...

People just couldn't even

"You don't give scissors to people like that"

Many reacted with tongue-in-cheek humor

And sarcasm...

When small talk goes terribly wrong

"I’m taking it he didn’t get A Level Geography"

Let's all hope he's a better barber

Not everyone was laughing at the incident though

Others thought of solutions...
