It's seriously getting cold in the Gulf. So cold, that temperatures in the UAE reached an all-time low on Friday.

Qatar, too, is feeling the bite. The Gulf nation just broke a 50-year-old record.

By what margin? 2.3 degrees to be exact.

The previous January 1964 record stands at 3.8 degrees. Sunday's? 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Qatar is more known for its hotter weather, with temperatures climbing well over 50 degrees Celsius.

So, it's no surprise that residents of this otherwise scorching nation are happy with the change.
