Emirati actress Badriya Ahmad was in the middle of an ordinary interview when she dropped a statement that sent people into a social media frenzy.
Earlier this week, while walking the red carpet at the Fujairah International Arts Festival, the star was interviewed by a local media reporter.
During the conversation, she was asked about her recent announcement of becoming a United Nations goodwill ambassador.
When the reporter asked her if she'll tour around the world trying to help refugees like Angelina Jolie does, she responded saying:
"I am the Emirates' Angelina Jolie... yes I am, so take note."
A clip of Ahmad making the statement then started making the rounds online and many are trolling the actress over her interview.
It all started when Ahmad made this statement...
And no one seems to be getting it
"Did I hear that right or am I just imagining it?"
Some just really couldn't even
"Na3am ya5ti?"
"What!!"
Many responded with humor
While others turned to sarcasm
"Do you know that actress Badriya Ahmad is the Gulf region's Angelina Jolie?"
"Astaghfar Allah"
No one was having any of it
Trolling was taken to new levels
"And I am Saudi Arabia's Kylie Jenner."
"If she's the Emirates' Angelina Jolie, I am Saudi's Dua Lipa"
Confidence level: Badriya Ahmad
"Her confidence is skyrocketing."
