The Egyptian-owned English football club Hull City celebrated the life of an avid supporter of the team, Omar Sharif, during Saturday's season-opener.

Omar Sharif, the Oscar-nominated actor and world renowned celebrity, died last month at the age of 83. Sharif was a devoted supporter of the club since the 1960s, and often attended their matches.

Hull City, which is owned by Egyptian businessman Assem Allam, started the off the new season with a big bang scoring 2-0. A much needed redemption after being placed the 18th in the English Premier League last season.
