If you live in Dubai, you officially live in the 10th best place to visit in the entire world, according to U.S. News and World Report's 2017 ranking.
The report ranks 30 places on earth, and Dubai made the cut. The emirate is also the only place in the Arab world included on the ranking.
Although the report makes the overused and cliche comparison between Dubai and Las Vegas, it redeems itself by highlighting how the emirate actually wins out.
"Dubai easily trumps ol' Sin City [Las Vegas] thanks to its gorgeous cream-colored [Arabian] Gulf shoreline, international culinary scene and larger-than-life attractions," the report says.
It goes on to highlight the unique monuments of Dubai's modern metropolis, while also emphasizing that the city "is still tied to its days as a modest port town."
If you don't live in Dubai and haven't visited, here's a closer look to understand just why it made the cut.
