On Friday, residents across the UAE got a chance to witness in detail the 21st century's longest total lunar eclipse, as people in the country turned their eyes to the sky to catch a glimpse of the rare celestial phenomenon.
The eclipse gave rise to a 'blood moon', which occurs when the moon changes hues from bright white to blood red as the sun's rays are reflected through the earth's atmosphere.
