Oh, Oman. One of the Middle East's top touristic destinations, Oman is home to some of the most picturesque beaches, historic cities and heavenly oases.

It is also home to five of the world's seven sea turtle species (that's over 70 percent).

Turtle watching in the sultanate is a must-have on any Oman travel itinerary. It's especially a big deal in the months of July and October, when approximately 20,000 turtles lay between 50,000 to 60,000 eggs.

Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve is the place to head to if you're looking for a remarkable turtle experience, here's why:

1. You spend the night in these tent-shaped bungalows at the reserve
