A Jordanian woman in Dubai has filed a case against her former husband, demanding his custody rights be stripped, upon discovering that he had allowed their 5-year-old son to watch pornography, Khaleej Times reports.
The father - who is also of Jordanian origin - had previously been found guilty by the court for having sex out of wedlock.
His wife had filed for a divorce shortly after her husband was caught on CCTV camera engaging in sexual intercourse with a Chinese masseuse in 2015.
At the time, the 34-year-old man received a 5,000 dirham fine and the court had ordered his deportation.
Following the incident, the woman noticed that her son was behaving inappropriately, touching her and his 18-month-old sister in a "sexual way".
The mother took him to see a psychologist, who issued a medical report which stated:
"During extensive therapy sessions, it was revealed that the child, born in January 2011, had been watching pornography and tried to demonstrate what he saw on his sister and his mother," the report read, according to Khaleej Times.
The "husband's actions jeopardized the child's psychological safety"
Awatif Mohammed, the woman's Emirati lawyer, told the Dubai Court of Misdemeanors that the "husband's actions jeopardized the child's psychological safety."
The child's psychologist testified in court, reiterating her statement and strongly advising that the child should not be left under his father's supervision.
Additionally, Lawyer Mohammed submitted a medical report in court suggesting that any father-child meetups going forward should only occur under proper supervision.
The court has found the husband guilty.
Mohammed also filed a civil case against the father, seeking compensation.
She also filed a case with the Personal Status Courts, requesting that the father is dismissed from being the legal guardian of their two children.
Both cases are still ongoing.
