Will the New 'Star Wars' Film Premiere in Dubai?

Umm, probably not.

Well, probably not.

But while speaking at the launch of Vox Theatre by Rhodes, VOX Cinemas CEO Cameron Mitchell teased at the possibility.

"We’re already talking to international studios about world premieres and special events. If you look at the concept of coming to the world premiere of Star Wars, and having food prepared by Gary Rhodes, it’s a concept nobody else in the world can match," Mitchell said, according to The National . "We think it’s going to be great for Dubai, for Gary and for [Vox parent group] Majid Al Futtaim."

Referencing the fact that " Furious 7 " almost premiered at a Vox cinema in the United Arab Emirates, Mitchell promised that "bringing that type of talent to the UAE is a no-brainer, we can do it."

Unfortunately, he went on to say that Star Wars was just an example of the type of openings that could be held in the new venue.

Sorry to all our Jedi sisters and brothers in the Emirates.
