According to Arab News, an ultra-fast tube transportation system that will operate at a speed of 1,100 km per hour will soon interconnect the entire GCC region.
Shortly after signing an agreement with the non-profit Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Philanthropic Foundation (MiSK Foundation), which aims to help disadvantaged youth in Saudi Arabia, Josh Giegel, the Founder of US-based Virgin Hyperloop One, spoke to the local news outlet and said that the new plans for the transportation system will help train Saudi youths on engineering and technical skills.
2-3 times faster and cheaper than regular high-speed trains
Giegel also said that the proposed ultra-fast tube transportation will be two to three times faster and cheaper than a regular high-speed train.
He added that the details of the project such as routes of operations inside as well as outside the kingdom will soon be discussed with his Saudi counterparts.

Using magnets to levitate pods inside an airless tube, the Hyperloop transportation technology can shuttle vehicles at more than 1,000 km per hour.
Essentially, the Hyperloop train will shoot capsules at high speeds through a nearly complete vacuum inside a large-scale tube. When executed, the technology could drastically decrease required transport time, allowing cities to become more like nearby metro stops than distant destinations.
