Labelled one of the most expensive hairstylists in the world, Rossano Ferretti officially opened a salon in Dubai, Vogue Arabia reported on Tuesday.
From styling A-list celebrities including, Salma Hayek and Lady Gaga to royals including the Duchess of Cambridge, Ferretti's unique Method haircut technique, also known as the invisible haircut, has made him a global success.
The salon is housed in a fully converted villa transformed into a world class luxurious hair and beauty spa, rather than in a hotel or shopping mall. This is because Ferretti wanted a more discreet location for his salon to ensure privacy for every client.
“They come to your salon and you learn that their privacy is important to them, and you respect that, and adapt to that," he said.
Combine this privacy with a luxurious Method haircut and you get a price tag that can reach up to $1500.
According to Vogue Arabia, Ferretti himself no longer cuts hair except for close friends and royalty.
In an interview with The National he explains that he trains a team of Method hairstylists.
"Our academy is only open for our team. We don’t sell our Method. Either you are part of the Method or you are not part of the Method. It’s like a little family club."
The Ferretti Method
Ferretti explains that in essence his "method eschews trends, over-styling and unnecessarily complex techniques in favor of an organic, natural cut that enhances the innate fall of the hair."
For the past two decades, Ferretti and his sister Lorenza, have constantly developed the technique and it has become one of the most celebrated concepts in hair-styling.
The hairstylist owns more than twenty salons in cities around the world and has finally decided to expand into the Middle East. In addition to opening in Dubai, two more salons are scheduled to open in Abu Dhabi and Qatar.
