A new statistic out from the Arab Labor Organization says youth unemployment in the Middle East is at 30 percent, a number that is three times higher than the global average.

Many blame political instability for the rising number, but regardless, it is not a good statistic. One of the byproducts of this startling statistic? A delayed age of independence, which is defined as living at home with one's parents.
