A Saudi princess reported the theft of jewels worth $930,000 from her hotel suite in Paris, a police source said earlier this week.
The woman - whose identity has not been revealed - was staying at the five-star Ritz hotel in Paris. According to media reports, there were no signs of forced entry into the suite when the heist took place on Friday.
A police source confirmed that the belongings were not placed in a safe, prompting an investigation by France's anti-organized-crime task force.

This isn't the first robbery to take place at the luxury hotel this year
In January, armed robbers seized millions of dollars worth of merchandise from the hotel's jewelry shop.
The men "smashed the jewelry stands and grabbed jewels that were clearly expensive with the help of axes," said Jean-Michel Huguet of Alliance Police Nationale, a police union, according to The Guardian.
However, all of the stolen goods were eventually recovered.
The Ritz is owned by Egyptian businessman Mohamed Al Fayed. It's known to be the place where Princess Diana of Wales dined with Fayed's son, Dodi, the night before they died in a car crash in 1997.
The incident isn't the first of its kind to take place in the heart of the city
In October 2016, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint during her stay at a luxury apartment located 10 minutes from the Ritz.
The robbers stole over $10 million worth of her jewelry.
Following the incident, Kardashian postponed her trip to Dubai. She was scheduled to host The Master Class, a makeup demonstration with makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic.
