A doctor in Riyadh restored this boy's sight after doctors in Europe and US failed

Dani had 51 surgeries in Europe and the US before going to Riyadh.

After 51 failed surgeries in four European countries and the United States, this Dutch boy can finally see again ... thanks to a doctor in Saudi Arabia.

The 8-year-old Dutch boy, identified as Dani by Al Arabiya, lost his eyesight due to a genetic disease when he was just 2 years old. His father tried everything to help his child.

Dani's father took him to specialists throughout Europe and the U.S.

But even after more than 50 surgeries, his son was still blind. Dani's father almost gave up hope, assuming his son would be blind forever.

Then a friend told him to consult experts at Riyadh's King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital

Why not? One last try couldn't hurt ...

And a doctor in Riyadh made Dani see again, after six years of darkness

Directly following the surgery, Dani's father saw no improvement. His son was still blind. The doctor in Riyadh told him to be patient.

Then, suddenly, one day he saw Dani chasing and kicking a ball! His son could finally see.

Now Dani's life has been changed forever, thanks to the surgery

Editors Note: A former version of this article referred to the doctor who performed the surgery as a Saudi citizen. That was incorrect. Italian Dr. Marco Mura performed the operation.
