Jordan's king and crown prince were in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, discussing recent regional developments including the controversial U.S. decision to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The Saudi and Jordanian leaders jointly "emphasized that the US decision will complicate the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in addition to the security and stability in the region," according to the Saudi Gazette.
They further "asserted the necessity to intensify and coordinate the Arab, Islamic and international efforts in order to protect the historic and firm rights of the Palestinian people over Jerusalem."
After the official meeting, Jordan's Crown Prince Hussein was warmly greeted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Jordan's future king shared the moment via his official Instagram account.
