After months of anticipation, Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody has officially made its way to local theaters ... and Egyptian-American actor Rami Malek has definitely turned heads.
Malek plays Freddie Mercury in the newly released film, which tells the story of the legendary British rock band Queen. The film walks audiences through the band's rise from the 1970s up until the band's Live Aid performance in 1985, which has been dubbed the "greatest rock performance of all time."
The biopic took the No. 1 spot with an "estimated $50 million haul in North America and $141.7 million globally," according to CNN. Many critics praised Malek for his on-point performance, but believed the film could have been executed differently.
"Rami Malek is more than up to the task, capturing the magnetism of the operatic, often campy performer," one critic said, according to Variety.
And well ... the people of the internet definitely agree.
