It's been months since Egyptian-American actor Rami Malek first announced his role as Freddie Mercury in the upcoming Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, which is set to be released in Dec. 2018.

But, it seems as though the news keeps making its way back into our timelines.

On Tuesday, a photo of his role in the upcoming movie was released, on what would have been the singer's 71st birthday.

The photo soon went viral ... and it was mainly due to the fact that Malek and Mercury are too alike in many ways, it's actually scary.

Malek sees the resemblance to the British singer and songwriter, saying that it "only adds to the level of confidence that one would need to play Freddie Mercury," according to Entertainment Weekly.

Looks like his confidence levels may have just spiked then ...

"Certainly looks the part"

They look SO much alike that warnings were issued

Because people actually thought this was a photo of Mercury

Like more than one person believed it was Mercury

"I thought these were high res Freddie pics"
