Earlier this week, a Saudi student went into labor minutes after she completed an exam in a school located in Medina, Okaz newspaper reported

The girl, now identified as Noura, is in her third year of high school but her age remains unconfirmed.

In a statement to press, a friend of the high schooler said she was still in the exam hall when her contractions began.

"We took the same car to school in the morning of the exam and she seemed fine. There were no signs she was this close to giving birth," the student said.

She also added that Noura started feeling ill after she was presented with the exam paper, but refused to leave the hall without completing it.

The student gave birth while on the way to the hospital

After submitting her exam paper, the student felt lethargic and fell unconscious as she was trying to leave the hall.

She was carried out by supervisors and teachers who immediately called Red Crescent paramedics and informed the student's family of the situation.

When medical personnel arrived, they put Noura in an ambulance and she gave birth to a baby girl on her way to the hospital.

She and her newborn were both admitted to the medical center and received necessary evaluations.

Not the first time a similar story is reported in the kingdom

Earlier this year, the story of a high school student who gave birth in an exam hall during a final went viral on social media.

The student, later identified as Zuhoor, was sitting in for her English exam when she suddenly went into labor.

In her statement on the matter, Ruqaya Hawsawi, the headteacher of Zuhoor's high school, said:

"The student is part of the home-schooling system, which allows students to only come in to school for exams. She arrived really early and no one noticed anything unusual, she wasn't feeling any labor pain at the time."

The young woman eventually gave birth to a baby girl even before paramedics arrived at the scene. She and her newborn were later evaluated at a hospital and were then sent back home.
