Saudi Arabia, particularly Riyadh, is known for being somewhat limiting when it comes to entertainment. Some of the kingdom's talents might stem from other places in Saudi Arabia such as Jeddah, but even with that, it's a bit restricting, especially for a female.

About a year ago, a Saudi singer named Tamtam launched her singing career with a song called "Gender Game," in which she addresses the challenges she faces as a Saudi woman who dares share her face and voice with the world.

What's interesting about Tamtam is that she was born and raised in Riyadh, which is one of the more strict places in the kingdom. She later moved to California to pursue her singing career.

All of her music uses catchy melodies and powerful lyrics to express the frustrations many Saudi women deal with due to routine discrimination, which often leaves them feeling unheard. She also tackles other aspects of life with her phenomenal vocals.
