Egypt is partnering with Polish world kiteboarding champion Karolina Winkowski to promote Egyptian tourism in Poland and other countries around the world, according to the ONA New Agency .
The chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Promotional Authority, Samy Mahmoud, announced that the authority had signed a contract with the windsurfing champion at a press conference Monday.
The project will included a variety of promotional methods, including Winkowska's use of kiteboarding equipment, professional clothing and cars that bear the Egyptian Tourism Promotional Authority's logo.
Winkowski will also promote Egypt at kiteboarding tour events and the Ford Cup in Poland, in addition to taking advantage of the water sports events that are to be organized in Egypt and shooting promotional videos in different beach tourism destinations in the country.
The collaboration will also involve the production of a promotional film about Egypt on Discovery Channel, as well as organizing promotional trips to Egypt in the Polish market that highlight the country's potential for kiteboarding and other water sports.
Egyptian Tourism Minister Khaled Ramy highlighted the importance of collaborating with celebrities to promote tourism in Egypt. He highlighted the importance of giving more attention to beach tourism in Egypt and the activities that accompany it, as cultural tourism along the Nile Valley especially in Luxor and Aswan has dwindled in the past four years.
This is not the first time for Egypt to collaborate with the Polish athlete to promote beach tourism in Egypt, as the two sides previously collaborated in 2014 when Winkowska shot promotional videos in Egypt's Red Sea coast.
Ramy said at the press conference that the 2014 collaboration had positive results on Egypt's beach tourism, especially as Poland is considered one of the promising countries when it comes to promoting beach tourism in Egypt.
