Footage of a school bus driving through floods in Saudi Arabia's Al Qassim governorate sparked anger among Twitter users earlier this week.

This comes days after several areas in the kingdom were hit with heavy rainfall.

Many have called on authorities to suspend classes, deeming it unsafe for students to commute to school campuses. However, neither the city's education authority nor the country's Ministry of Education issued suspension orders.

The decision to keep schools running during such unstable weather conditions has since been heavily scrutinized by many who called it "irresponsible."

The video soon became a topic of discussion among many

No one could believe it

"Is this even possible?"

Many thought authorities should've issued a suspension

"I swear this is unfair, they've should've suspended classes."

"This puts people's children at risk"

"It looks like they won't suspend school until everyone drowns"

Some blamed the students' parents for sending them to school

"Why did parents send their children to school? My kids and their lives are more important than the decision of an irresponsible official."

"Every family should be responsible for suspending a school day during this weather"

Not the only news to spark outrage this week

On Tuesday, Saudi civil defense teams in Barida, Al Qassim's capital city, rescued seven students who were trapped in their school bus amid the ongoing floods.

The incident ultimately went viral on social media, pushing many to call on  authorities to order an immediate school suspension in the region.
