Arab Snapchat users were not happy when they saw that a live feed of Tel Aviv was launched on the service Tuesday, coinciding with the one-year anniversary of the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip that killed 2,200 civilians:

The hashtag soon became a trending topic worldwide, which alerted Snapchat moderators to the criticism. In response, the app sent this announcement to Snapchatters in the West Bank:

The West Bank story went live Thursday morning, and many have taken to Twitter to praise Snapchat for listening to their calls and to marvel at seeing mundane life in Bethlehem and Ramallah:
