Lebanese filmmaker Ely Dagher's short film "Waves ’98" has been selected for the 2015 Short Films Competition of the Cannes Festival .
The film beat out 4,550 short films submitted, and is one of just nine that are now up for the 2015 Short Film Palme d’or.
In a beautiful animated way, Dagher presents a story that touches all Lebanese youth who are struggling from the lack of creativity from their mundane life.
Omar, the curious Alice, follows the sudden golden animal that appears, into what turns out to be a special part of the city.
