Arab cities fail to impress in international 'reputation' survey

Reputation Institute's 2015 City RepTrak report showed that Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ryad, and Cairo still have a long way to go before having high reputation.

It seems that Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ryad, and Cairo were not able to impress more than 19,000 surveyed tourists from G8 countries (United States, Russia, Canada, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Japan, and Germany).

Reputation Institute 's latest City RepTrak report, which evaluated cities based on appealing environment, effective government, and advanced economy between February and March, ranked Sydney, Australia, as the most reputable city in 2015.

Based on its criteria, only four Arab cities made it in the ranking, but did not do well. Dubai, the best among the cities, ranked 47th, followed by Abu Dhabi, 70, Riyadh, 90, and Cairo, 95.

Abu Dhabi and Riyadh were also ranked in the bottom 10 for their emotional halo, which examined trust, admiration, good feeling, and esteem. Abu Dhabi placed in the fifth spot, while Ryad place seventh.
