A screenshot of Charlie Palmer - a hummus expert, apparently - on the BBC Breakfast show, has been making the rounds online for the past few days.

It all started when Facebook page 'Hummus Mem3s' posted the image with a caption that read:

"Passion is the difference between having a job or having a career," referencing a years old quote on one's job choices.

The meme ultimately went viral, with many adding their own commentary to the mix.

But, in the end, it all boiled down to one question pointed out by Twitter user @mohamedGFS:

"There's only one kind of hummus! How can you even be an expert!?"

Are you even hummus certified?

Imagine people's reaction upon telling them this was your job ... if it was your job

The image ultimately changed people's perspective on life and goals and hummus

What would your future in-laws think?

Life ambitions gone too far?

"I have a degree in hummus, a minor in guac"

Source: Reddit

Basically: "Evidence of crimes against Levantine food"

Charlie Palmer even has a 'black bean hummus jar with quinoa tabbouleh' recipe on his website ... because adding a 'western' touch to Middle Eastern food is what we need in this world.

Are the falafel burgers (or green burgers as they like to call them,) cauliflower tabbouleh, and avocado knefeh not enough?

Sarcasm dominated the conversation

Welcome to 2017

Where "PhD in hummus" exists? Maybe? Probably? Potentially?

"My grandma would be horrified"

Really. I AM DONE WITH THIS WORLD. Done. Done. Done.
