Sole DXB, in partnership with d3, announced its full 2017 program a few days ago, and it's absolutely epic!

With the support of Cadillac and Coca-Cola, and in association with Dubai Tourism, the 3-day global street culture festival returns this December 7th, 8th, and 9th, revealing a heavyweight billing that brings together some of the world’s finest names from across art, food, music, sports, and style.

Having celebrated American Hip-Hop heritage in 2015, and its British street-evolved counterpart in 2016, Sole DXB returns in 2017 to spotlight the legacy and influence of Japanese contemporary design.

Here are 7 reasons why you should attend Sole DXB this year:

1. The artist lineup is insane!

Live music performances include Kano, Pusha T, Serious Klein, Goldlink, and IAMDDB amongst many others...

2. Workshops from the likes of Hiroshi Fujiwara and Jeff Staple

3. Amazing after-parties

It wouldn’t be Sole DXB without some intimate after-parties, with the OGs DJ Stretch Armstrong, DJ Shortkut, streetwear icons PATTA Soundsystem, and DJs Tom Crane, Dave Lubin, and Andy Baxter providing the flavors this year.

4. Opening night, December 7, will host a free-to-public annual film screening

This year, it's the turn of Mass Appeal and their recently produced hip-hop documentary to take center stage.

Directed by Mass Appeal’s Chief Creative Officer, Sacha Jenkins, the documentary examines the transformative power of lyrics in the world of Hip-Hop.

With an open door policy, it’s the first in a long line of socially driven moves from Sole DXB aimed at providing legitimate, culturally-weighted entertainment, stimulating grassroots artistry.

5. There will be a series of cultural talks

Intimate conversations will be hosted with some of the biggest names in design, fashion, and music.

These include headlining musician Pusha T, the much-heralded godfather of streetwear Hiroshi Fujiwara, designer and style icon Jeff Staple, Peter Bittenbender, David Fischer, Melody Ehsani, and many more...

6. In partnership with Cadillac, the Andy Warhol Museum, will exclusively launch the final exhibition of 'Letters to Andy Warhol'

Off the back of announcing a heavyweight cultural billing for the 2017 event that includes Kano, Pusha T, and Hiroshi Fujiwara, Sole DXB announced further exciting news, as Cadillac and the Andy Warhol Museum come together for an archive-led exhibition like no other.

7. Nike's Sole Ball Above All Classic will be there again this year!

As ever, basketball will play a key part in event proceedings, sponsored by Nike and presented by hip-hop icon Bobbito Garcia, the Sole Ball Above All Classic is an open winner-takes-all tournament made up of 11 teams from the region.

The event reflects upon the booming appetite for an alternative culture that Sole DXB has steadily cultivated since its inception in 2010.

Sole DXB is based in Dubai Design District (d3) and is home to the region’s only street and urban culture festival.

The event will take place from December 7-9 and make sure you get your tickets early to avoid disappointment...
