When it's time for vacation in Egypt, it's time to hit the cinema. That's why film producers make sure they release their projects during the holidays of Eid El-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha, the two biggest movie seasons of the year.

With Eid Al-Adha approaching in about a month, the competitors in the race to win the biggest revenues have announced their submissions with six new films featuring many familiar faces and spanning action, comedy and drama genres, offering something for everyone.

First to announce was "Men Dahr Ragel," produced by Ahmed El-Sobky and starring Asser Yassin, Mahmoud Hameida, Yasser Galal and Yasmine Raees. The action drama is about an aspiring boxer who falls in love with a girl living in a slum as he struggles to make it to the top of his career.

Yassin posted a photo of him in a hoodie from the set of the film on Instagram writing "nothing better than shooting in winter clothes in this heat."

Another Sobky production is the social drama "El-Leila El-Kebira," starring Nelly Karim, Zeina, Wafaa Amer and Somaya El-Khashab. Like previous Sobky hits "Cabaret" and "El-Farah," the film revolves around the events of one night.

Except this time it explores the world of a "moulid," a popular religious celebration in Egypt, through the intertwined stories of characters living where it is held and others visiting it.

Sobky marks his third contribution this season with the social comedy "Abu Shanab" starring Yasmine Abd El-Aziz who plays a female officer who embarks on comedic encounters with society.

Famous Egyptian singer Tamer Hosny returns to cinema with Ghada Adel in "Ahwak," a romantic comedy produced by Mohamed El-Sobky in which Hosny plays a plastic surgeon who falls in love with a divorced woman played by Adel.

Hosny also posted various photos from the set of film on Instagram such as selfies with Adel and other famous members of the cast.

Ghada Ibrahim also makes a comeback to cinema after a long absence with "Sharee Mohamed Ali" alongside Shams and Amy Talaat Zakaria. The drama discusses the realities of folk artists in Egypt and the demise of oriental dance which once dominated Cairo's famous Mohamed Ali Street.

Finally comes "Amoud Fakry" starring Ola Ghanem, Haitham, Inas El-Naggar and Ahmed Seyam, a social drama discussing the daily lives of young people.

With prominent Egyptian producers the Sobky brothers competing and many famous stars making anticipated comebacks to cinema, this Eid Al-Adha season is expected to be even bigger than the last Eid El-Fitr season .
