Watching Chef Gordon Ramsay in Hell's Kitchen can instantly transport you back to your childhood.

Because minus the expletives (of course), so many of his facial expressions and reactions mimic those of an Arab mom.

Don't believe us? Here, see for yourselves:

1. When she expresses her disappointment in you

You: But I don't want to be a daktor!

Her: ...

2. When she walks into your untidy room

You've got to understand that there's no place for a messy room in an Arab mom's home.

3. When she demands you wear your jacket

Yep, for Arab moms, even the slightest breeze calls for extreme measures.

4. When you speak your mind in front of relatives

Honesty is the best policy, but not in front of judgmental relatives... mama says.

5. When it's time for finals...

Rakzo or Rakez/Rakze is a famous word in every Arab mom's dictionary, especially when it's finals week.

6. When you don't finish up all the food on your plate

This is when all hell breaks loose.

7. When she takes you along for a "zyara"

Shhh wala kelma... you know the drill.

8. When she's fed up with your shenanigans

Sometimes Arab moms don't even need to say a single word for you to understand the severity of a situation.

9. When she's about to leave a parent/teacher meeting

God help you, indeed.

10. When you take a day off on 3azeel day

After 18+ years of living with an Arab mom, you'll come to understand that a spring cleaning day (also known as the day of 3azeel) is to be taken very seriously... Try setting foot on freshly cleaned wet floors and you'll see something you don't like!

11. When your Arabic grade comes in

2/10???? Ana bfarjeek.

12. When you get into any sort of trouble

We all know this'll end in tears!

13. When you tell her you don't want to eat her tabeekh

You: I don't feel like Mjadara/Marag/Molokhiya....

Her: Tabeekh w bas!

14. When people are coming over for a 3azeema and you get in the way

Word of advice: When people are coming over for dinner... move out of her way.

15. When she says: Inshallah habibi...

What this really means: Nope... not going to happen.

See? The resemblance is uncanny!
