You would think it is as simple as getting into your car and driving to the beach, but my dear friends, getting yourself ready for the summer is a major struggle. Preparations for next summer start right when the current beach season is over, only to find yourself panicking in April because you thought it wouldn’t come this soon.

Here is your go to guide for the best summer yet to come!

1. Pre-tan

Open 12 months a year, Beirut's Sporting Beach Club is the place to go to get your pre-tan on. Sunscreen is a big NO NO; who cares about the wrinkles and saggy skin, a pre-tan is so worth it!

2. Tattoo

Contemplating that tattoo all year long, it is the time for you to hit the tattoo parlor just in time for strutting your ink this summer. Possibly a dolphin or a cherry on the shoulder bone?

3. Laser

The minute the beach season closed was the time to get on those painful laser sessions only to be done and sun ready in time for beach reopening. Spend around $1000 on laser, but do not forget to set a separate budget for the waxing appointments because laser never fully works!

4. Juicing

Kale, celery, lemon and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper have promised to detox you and rid you of any bloating – ask the doctors; it IS scientifically proven.

5. Highlights

A couple of blonde streaks to go perfectly with that sun kissed tan... If anyone asks, your hair just naturally gets lighter in the sun.

6. Hit the gym

Personal trainers are booked from September till June. Everyone wants that Giselle body by the next summer. Passing out because you haven’t had anything to eat in days is normal, suck it up!

7. Pedicures

It is time for those toes that have been sitting in socks and boots for way too long to come out and play. Get them scrubbed, creamed and pretty with a super flashy color so they stand out.

8. Swimsuit dilemma

One piece or two-piece? The constant swimsuit dilemma. The hell with it! Get both and change on the beach

9. Platform shoes

Now this only applies if you are Lebanese. But wearing platform shoes to the beach with slippery oily feet is really worth the struggle! Don’t forget the excessive bangles and hoop earrings that go perfectly well with the full makeup and up do hair from the wedding you attended last night.
