Passengers flying from Beirut to London via Middle East Airlines (MEA) can once again carry their laptops on flights.
Since March, travelers flying with Lebanon's flagship carrier were barred from bringing laptops and other large electronic devices in their carry-on luggage when traveling to the United Kingdom. The British ban came after a controversial measure by the United States, which appeared to only target Middle Eastern carriers.
However, as of Thursday, the ban has been lifted for MEA flights, the airline announced via Facebook on Friday.
The airline said that it "extends its deep appreciation to its passengers for their understanding at the time of the electronic ban and thanks them in anticipation for their continuous cooperation."
MEA also thanked British Ambassador in Lebanon Mr. Hugo Shorter for his support.
Lebanon follows other Middle Eastern nations that have already had the British ban lifted. Istanbul's international airport was the first to see the measure removed for some airlines back in August. These included Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, and Royal Jordanian.
Amman's international airport also saw the ban lifted for some airlines in summer.
For its part, the U.S. lifted its laptop ban on all carriers in July.
