Where else would we dream of enjoying a long pleasant ski run down snowy slopes besides Dubai?

Of course, Dubai residents have long enjoyed the slopes of the indoor Ski Dubai park but now the emirate just upped the draw for snow lovers. Meydan, a large-scale leisure, residential and hospitality development, will feature the world's longest indoor ski slope at 1.2 km.

At this length, the new slope will dwarf the previous record holder, AlpinCenter in Germany, which only boasts a 640 meter run. Sorry Germany, but you have real snow anyway.

The project's details were unveiled Monday night, with the development also set to break four additional records according to Gulf News.

Of course, some of the records are just Dubai one-upping itself.

Although the Dubai Fountain currently holds the record as the highest dancing fountain in the world at 275 meters, Meydan One plans to beat that with one reaching 420 meters. Soaring above the Dubai Fountain, the Burj Khalifa's 360-observation deck currently holds the record as the highest at 555 meters but this will be outdone by one at 655 meters with the new development.

In addition, Meydan One will feature the world's tallest residential tower, beating out The World One in India. The development will also add the highest sky restaurant at 675 meters to Dubai's growing list of records.

The overall area of the development will encompass 3.67 million square meters and is being constructed by the Meydan City Corporation. The overall cost and value has not been revealed. Phase one completion of the project is slated for 2020.
