Legendary martial artist and actor Jackie Chan is currently in Dubai filming his upcoming feature Vanguard. The film, directed by Kung Fu Yoga's Stanley Tong, is Chan's second movie to be shot in the Emirati city, with the first being Kung Fu Yoga in 2015.
Even though his schedule is pretty tight with the film shoot and work commitments, the international star is still finding time to enjoy the emirate.
From visiting Dubai's unique smart police station to dining at top restaurants, here's how Chan has been living it up in Dubai:
He toured the world's first-ever smart police station
On Sunday, the star visited Dubai's Smart Police Station, located in beachside suburb La Mer.
According to The National, the Rush Hour star toured the facility and was guided by Saeed Al Janahi, the director of operations at Dubai Film and TV Commission.
As if the tour wasn't exclusive enough, he also got a first-look at Dubai Police's newest high-tech supercar, Ghiath.
He hit a top Italian restaurant
Earlier this week, several local celebs spotted Chan dining at Dubai's top Italian restaurant II Borro Tuscan Bistro and made sure to snap photos with him.
He visited a tailor and picked out "dishdasha" fabrics
Chan took out time to visit Dar Al Hay, a traditional men's tailoring company in Dubai.
A video posted on Instagram captures the star looking through fabrics usually used to manufacture dishdashas (floor-length garment worn by men in the Gulf). He might be getting one of the local outfits to wear in his upcoming film.
He mingled with Dubai-based Chinese fans
A fan page dedicated to Chan posted a video of him speaking to a Chinese person at an event held in the emirate.
Chan's film shoot in Dubai looks pretty cool
Chan's film is being shot around Downtown Dubai, City Walk, and several other locations.
Speaking to press during a media gathering organized by Film Dubai, the star said he absolutely loved the experience of shooting films in Dubai.
"Dubai is a good place to film, so this is why we're coming back. I believe, for the future, we'll come back again and again," he said, but I need all the police cars," he chuckled.
"After 'Kung Fu Yoga,' I go back, I tell all my friends — no matter Hong Kong, Taiwan, all the directors there — you should film in Dubai... When you film here, you're comfortable," he added.
The shooting of Vanguard has been ongoing for three weeks and is set to wrap up this week. The film features an international cast that includes Emirati actors and is scheduled for release in the next few months.
