Will Smith, who's playing the Genie in Disney's live-action version of Aladdin, just landed in Jordan to shoot scenes for the film.

According to Al Rai newspaper, the film is currently being shot in Jordan's Wadi Rum.

In his statement on the matter, the Commissioner of Tourism and Commerce in Al Aqaba Authority's special economy unit, Sharhabil Madi, said

"Smith's visit comes as part of our authority's plan to further promote Aqaba as a tourist attraction. Hotels, travel companies, catering facilities and many others  will be taking part in creating a bridge between Al Aqaba and Wadi Rum to ensure that everything is provided for the film's crew," he explained.

Madi also went on to add that tens of other Arab and international stars who are taking part of the film will be arriving in Jordan soon.

Not the first time Smith visits the country

This isn't the first time Will Smith visits Jordan. In 2015, the actor and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, visited Amman to attend Jordanian businessman Eyhab Jumean's wedding.

In a post he shared on Facebook at the time, Smith wrote

"My first time in Amman, Jordan. WOW! I love it here."
