Within the past few days, Egypt witnessed heavy rains and strong winds creating major floods as well a number of deaths in four governorates, Alexandria, Mansoura, Beheria, Tanta as well as the 6th of October City in Cairo.

This is not the first flooding to take the country by surprise as just last week, on Oct. 25, Alexandria was flooded, resulting in the deaths of seven people.

The current situation is leaving the majority of Egyptians wondering if the current government, if the country, is equipped to handle natural disasters, resulting in 5 trending hashtags on Twitter: " Mansoura is drowning ", " Alexandria is drowning ", " Tanta is drowning ", " Beheira is drowning " and " This can't be right. "

1. This is the current situation in Mansoura

"This is not Aqua park."

2. Schools are flooded

"Deep."

3. People are really unaware of what to do

"You guys are mistaken, Mansoura is not drowning. It's just Sisi creating a new Suez Canal."

4. For now, people are taking matters on to their own hands

As for the rest of the country, people are agitated and anxious as they stand and watch helplessly.
