Oftentimes, the real beauty of a country is nowhere near the advertised images that circulate the media. That's why Visa, the global digital payments company, launched its fan-based campaign "My City, #MyEverywhere" to promote inbound and domestic tourism in the Middle East.

For five weeks, from April 5 to May 10, the different Visa social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, will be home to a video competition where people can submit 15-30 second videos of their favorite spots in Cairo, Luxor, Abu Dhabi and Amman.

Using famous hashtags relevant to the four cities, #Misr_Orayba #InAbuDhabi #GoJordan, and tagging @Visamiddleeast, submissions will be chosen from for the chance to win one of three $400 Visa Prepaid Cards every week until 10 May 2015.

The competition in Egypt, even though active since the launching of the campaign in early April, was announced on the Experience Egypt (Misr Orayba) Facebook page on April 15, which built a lot of buzz around the campaign.

In partnership with the Egyptian Tourism Authority, the campaign is hoping to help boost Egypt's tourism sector, which has suffered a lot due to the recent instability and terrorist attacks.

, "Given the current state of the online ecosystem, the internet can potentially improve the image of the country through user-generated content on social media platforms and online media campaigns. It allows users to upload content on various social media platforms that can be seen by millions of people who can interact with such content," said Tarek Mahfouz, Visa Egypt country manager. ,

Live in Amman, Abu Dhabi, Luxor or Cairo? Do you believe that your city holds a lot of beauty that is worth spreading? Then all you need is your camera phone and plenty of enthusiasm. Who knows, you might win $400.
