The age of virtual reality is upon us, and it comes with the promise to revolutionize everything, from gaming and entertainment, to education, to selling real-estate, to tourism and even to the way people all over the world communicate, among a multitude of other applications. It’s as big of a game-changer as the introduction of the television was in the 1930s.
Facebook has recently rolled out a modern way to view panoramas and VR photos with your smartphone – "360 Photos" – which allows you to be immersed in the location where the photo was taken since you can look all around by tilting your phone. Those with a Gear VR can also hit the “View in VR” button in the top left corner, pop their phone into the headset, and look around by moving their head.
Since this feature became available, several people and pages on Facebook started sharing their best panoramas. This has caused a great deal of enthusiasm among Egyptians in particular because of some awe-inspiring 360-degree panoramas that are making it possible for thousands of people to take a peek into some exotic locations around the country that they’ve never seen before, or haven’t experienced in quite the same way.
Here’s a compilation of excellent 360 panoramas to explore the magnificence of several Egyptian locations.
