American Actor Robert de Niro caused quite the frenzy on Egyptian social media late on Monday.
This came after a video of the actor sending a message to his fans in the country went viral.
The footage was posted on Instagram by popular Egyptian actor Khaled Al Nabawy, who made no mention of where it was captured.
It quickly sparked rumors that de Niro might have arrived in Egypt to attend the 39th Cairo International Film Festival.
The festival is set to open late on Tuesday and goes on until the 30th of November.
