A teenage boy in Istanbul is being hailed hero after saving a little girl who fell through a window from the second floor.

The two-year-old, identified as Syrian Doha Muhammed, reportedly approached the window while her mother was in the kitchen. Luckily, the instincts of a 17-year-old Algerian national prevented a tragedy from occurring.

As soon as Fawzi Zabaat saw the toddler at the window, he immediately positioned himself under the window to catch her. Thankfully, the teen successfully caught the girl in his arms without any injuries. The CCTV footage of the moment has been widely shared online since, with many hailing the teen as the hero he is. The Algerian immigrant works at a frame shop on the same street and believes he did what "was necessary for the love of Allah," Indy100 reported.

"I was just walking in [sic] the road when I saw the little girl at the window. She fell, and thanks to God, I caught her before she hit the ground," he added

The incident took place in Turkey last week, specifically in the Fatih district of Istanbul. The girl's family has since rewarded Zabaat with the equivalent of $35.

"What he did as one young man, can't we do as whole countries?"
