With some killer Titanic-inspired background music, Dubai released a video announcing its "Museum of the Future."

The name is not supposed to be an oxymoron.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the plans this past Wednesday, telling Gulf News that the museum will be "a permanent home for the world's greatest innovations." The museum will be located near Emirates Tower, in the central financial district.

Meant to mark Dubai's achievement in being the host of the World Expo in 2020, the museum's tagline is “See the future, create the future." The Wall Street Journal points out that this is the latest in a series of investments in technology for the emirate, the most recent event being " Drones for Good ."

Set to open in 2017, this super-crazy (we're not even sure what the shape is) building will be both a museum and research lab. We're guessing the lab is 'future' part of the equation.
