Ride-hailing services Uber and Lyft have banned an American right-wing activist after she complained about the app's Muslim drivers in the wake of a terror attack in New York City, which left eight dead and dozens of others injured.
Laura Loomer, a well-known far-right Twitter personality, shared her Islamophobic remarks on the platform Wednesday, in which she directly attacked the ride-hailing services for allowing Muslim drivers to transport passengers.
"I'm late to the NYPD press conference because I couldn't find a non-Muslim cab or Uber/Lyft driver for over 30 min! This is insanity," Loomer wrote.
Her comments came after reports revealed that the NY attack was reportedly carried out by a former Uber driver.
Uber told Business Insider that they have banned Loomer for "violating the platform's community guidelines."
Lyft also confirmed it had deactivated Loomer’s account.
Loomer began her rant by suggesting that someone create a "non-Islamic form of Uber or Lyft"
She continued by saying that she was late to a press conference ...
Following Loomer's thread, many took to Twitter to respond to Loomer's blatant racism in the most epic way.

Loomer's response to the NY attack did not start with an attack on Uber and Lyft
Using the hashtag #banIslam, Loomer called the religion a "cancer" and tweeted that all Muslims are responsible for the deadly violence.
In the wake of the terror attack that killed eight people in Manhattan, Loomer began by identifying herself as a "Proud Islamophobe" and labeling Muslims as "savages" who "ruin everything" ... And model Gigi Hadid didn't let it pass.
