Arab Twitter has a new trending topic, and what a shame it is. The hashtag #التحرش_سببه_البنات_ولا_الشباب, which means "is assault caused by girls or boys," has reached the third spot on the worldwide trends.
The topic trended worldwide, with everybody sharing their opinions on the issue, mostly blaming girls for dressing in a certain way, acting in a certain way or even daring to go out alone.
"Men will assault an indecent girl, and the modest one keeps the devils away from her.."
"The cause of assault is indecent clothing and going out without a mahram, if she's properly dressed and has a mahram no one will approach her"
"Girls are the number one reason because if a man saw a woman dressed properly like her religion asks her to he wouldn't dare look at her"
"Girls of course especially with a tight abaya and makeup and a perfume you can smell seven kilometers away"
However, it was refreshing to see that there were many people who called out the topic for being absolutely ridiculous.
