Lebanese Snapchatter Georgio Bassil (Georgio.Copter) became the Snapchat Artist of the Year at the The Ghosties 2016 awards last week, and we're not surprised.

The event, organized by Snaphappen, is being hailed as the world's first Snapchat awards and aimed to highlight "the biggest and best in the Snapchat game, from storytellers, news reporters to the brands using the platform as a marketing tool."

Bassil draws playful monsters into each of his adventures and everyday Snapchat stories, shifting our perspective on the image and adding a layer of narrative to some of the mundane situations.

Here's a look at some of his best work.

From playfully mocking London's iconic red telephone booths ...

To drawing our attention to monsters emerging from the dance floor ...

Or finding a stolen hammock ...

Bassil's life is anything but dull.

Monsters pop up in the strangest places.

They chase him everywhere

They're in the sea ...

Chilling in the snow ...

Lifting at the gym ...

Did you know that your laptop keypad was a monster trap door?

Sometimes they even sleep over.

They're his buds.

And there are always lots of interesting characters.

Bassil definitely sees the world in a unique way.
