Egyptian social media star Mohammed Tarek is known for his comedic videos ... and he's back at it again; this time with an analysis of English singer Dua Lipa's hit song New Rules.
The 20-year-old starts of by giving Lipa an Arabized version of her name.
Introducing to you ... "Du3aa Liba".
Tarek then goes on to analyze the song, using stereotypes Arabs are notoriously known for.
The video was posted on Tuesday and has since gone viral, amassing over 49,000 views in less than 14 hours.
"I'm dead"
Tarek continues to explain the song's theme, which revolves around a breakup ... and the woman's fight to be "strong, indebendent," Tarek says.
Lipa then "looks at herself in the mirror and states 3 rules [in an attempt] to avoid 't7enelo'," which is Arabic for "chilling up to the guy" after the breakup.
Rule #1:
Lipa's first rule is:
"Don't pick up the phone, you know he's only calling when he's drunk and alone" ... to which Tarek responds by saying:
"First of all, you are dating an Alcoholic. This person drinks alcohol, so why you date him? First of all ... Astaghfurillah," he says.
Rule #2:
Lipa's second rule is:
"Don't let him in, you have to kick him out again" ... to which Tarek responds by saying:
"If your parents are in the house, maybe let him in to brobose," making fun of the mindset most Arab parents have when it comes to having a boyfriend.
Rule #3:
Lipa's third rule is:
"Don't be his friend, you know you're gonna wake up in his bed in the morning" ... to which Tarek responds by saying:
"First of all, limeh nafsek ya Du3aa ..."
Tarek is playing on the stereotypical notions present among Arabs, even today when it comes to pre-marital sex. He goes on to ask Lipa, where are your mozer (mother) and fazer (father).
