Arab women's clothing trends have changed drastically over the last 50+ years. So much so, that some countries are barely recognizable if not for photo captions.

Let's walk through some of the Arab women's fashion sense since the 60s.

1. Egypt, 1960s

Dubbed 'The Golden Age,' the 60s in Egypt were a time of modernity and embracing the Western look.

Women rocked bikinis and mini skirts.

2. Saudi Arabia, 1970s

Looking at Saudi Arabia in the 70s, you would not have imagined the dress code to change the way it did.

Women were not obligated to cover up with black abayas but were actually more carefree in what they wore.

3. Iran, 1980s

The 80s in Iran was the decade during which an obligatory law that imposed veils on women went into effect.

In the early years of the decade, many Iranian women illegally marched into the streets wearing dresses and fancy coats to protest the new law.

4. Lebanon, 1990s

The 90s in Lebanon saw the rise of a wave of raunchy women singers.

Whatever they wore would instantly become trendy.

5. Bahrain, 2000s

Abayas and veils were the main choice of wardrobe for Bahrain's women in the 2000s.

Either that or something that didn't show too much skin.

6. Palestine, 2010 - present

Palestinian women today can be seen donning a pair of jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, possibly a veil, and a 'keffiyeh' (Palestinian scarf) to complete the look.
