A street cat adopted by the UK's ambassador to Jordan, Edward Oakden, has become an overnight social media sensation. 

The feline, named Lawrence, was adopted from Jordan's Humane Center for Animal Welfare early in October. 

However, the story of his adoption was picked up by local Televisions and newspapers earlier this week, sending people into a meltdown of the sorts.
